The Very Inspiring Blogger Award Nominees

To accept your award, here's the rules:

1. Thank the person who nominated you.
2. Display the blogger award emblem.
3. Nominate 15 (more or less) blogs and give a link to each.
4. Go to their blog and leave a comment that you've nominated them for the inspiring blogger award.

Thanks so much to author, Beverly Stowe McClure, for nominating me for this award. I'm in awe of all the book reviews she does. In so doing she helps out a lot of us. She also puts out a line of wonderful books herself.
We were online friends that finally met for lunch one day. I so enjoyed that, Beverly. Find her at

Here's things that inspire me:

1. A lady at my church though in her upper seventies ministers personally and in classes to so many. I watch her and think I have no excuse.

2. My husband who with kindness and patience has done everything to help me during this last month when I was sick. (Even though I was cranky and hard to live with.) He's a keeper.

3. Sunsets. One thing that North Texas is known for is beautiful sunsets. Sunsets often spark my creative juices and make me grateful to be alive.

Many blogs inspire me, but here is my nominations for the blogger award nominees.

A New Book by Beverly Stowe McClure

How exciting!

4RV Publishing Co. has just released a middle grade book by one of my favorite authors, Beverly Stowe McClure. Her young adult novels have kept me riveted, so I'm anxious to hear about the new book.

What's it about,  Beverly?

STAR OF THE TEAM is a middle grade contemporary novel.

A girl.

A dream.

An accident.

A dream shattered.

Eleven-year-old Kate Taylor dreams of being the star of her basketball team, Angels. When Kate’s tooth is knocked out at one of the games and her mother, who is also her coach, says she can’t play until the tooth the dentist replants heals, Kate’s dreams are in jeopardy. Add Emily, the new girl at school who claims she’s the best, and Kate faces a challenge to prove that she is the star
.

Will Kate succeed? Or will Emily ruin Kate’s plans?

Now tell everyone something about yourself.

Most of the time, you’ll find Beverly in front of her computer, writing the stories little voices whisper in her ear. When she’s not writing, she takes long walks and snaps pictures of clouds, wild flowers, birds and deer. To some of her friends, she is affectionately known as the “Bug Lady” because she rescues butterflies, moths, walking sticks, and praying mantis from her cats.

For twenty-two years Beverly taught children in grades two through five how to read and write. They taught her patience. Now, she teaches a women’s Sunday school class at her church. To relax she plays the piano. Her cats don’t appreciate good music and run and hide when she tickles the ivories.

Cover Reveal for Beverly Stowe McClure's new book

I'm excited to be one of several this week to show off Beverly Stowe McClure's new cover art. I'm loving it. I've read McClure's young adult Life on Hold and recommend it. In that book, she speaks with a teen voice. I'm thinking this new middle grade book will be more of the same excellent writing. McClure knows how to tell a story meant for young people.

And now, to reveal the gorgeous cover.

Isn't that an exciting cover, so inviting to a reader.
Congratulations, Beverly Stowe McClure

Ten-year-old Kate Taylor wants to be the star of her basketball team, Angels, but when her tooth is knocked out at one of the games, her goal is in jeopardy. Even though the dentist replants the tooth, her mother, who is also her coach, refuses to let Kate play unless she can come up with a way to protect the tooth.

With the encouragement of her friends and teammates, Kate tries everything. She asks her sister, Zoe, how her boyfriend, Ray, protects his teeth when playing football. Zoe is clueless. Kate wears her friend Simon’s catcher’s mask to practice, but it’s too big and blocks her view of the goal. Kate stuffs cotton balls in her mouth and thinks she’s swallowed one. Nothing works.

To add to Kate’s problems, Emily, the new girl at River Bend Elementary, is great at basketball. Kate worries Emily will be the star of the team. On top of that, Simon, the school brain, as well as klutz, says he plans to join the Angels, even though boys are not allowed.

In the final game of the season, Kate faces a decision that will not only decide who wins the game, but whether she’s star of the team or not.
